Chase Branham Indiana Commitment
One of the biggest moments in the Chase Branham recruiting story arrived on September 20, 2025.
He committed to Indiana.

The decision gave Indiana an important piece for its future backcourt.

Indiana ultimately won the recruitment.

Why Did Chase Branham Choose Indiana?
Recruiting decisions usually involve several factors. Coaching relationships, basketball fit, campus experience and plans for player development can all matter.
In discussing his commitment, Chase Branham indicated that Indiana had held a strong position in his recruitment. Coverage from TheHoosier reported that Indiana was his leading option during the recruiting process.
The basketball fit is also easy to understand.
Chase Branham can operate with or without the ball. He can push the pace in transition, attack scoring opportunities and contribute as a passer.
That versatility provides college coaches with options.
Instead of placing Chase Branham into one narrow role, a staff can potentially use him at multiple backcourt spots.
Chase Branham Playing Style
The easiest way to describe Chase Branham is as a versatile guard.
He has enough size to play across the backcourt. He can handle the ball but does not need to dominate possession on every trip.
Scouting coverage has highlighted several parts of his game, including transition scoring, off-ball movement, perimeter shooting and passing.
What Are Chase Branham’s Main Strengths?
Chase Branham stands out for his guard size, scoring versatility, movement and ability to contribute both on and off the ball. His 6-foot-4 frame gives him useful size for a backcourt player, while his skill set allows him to fill more than one role.
Key parts of the Chase Branham game include:
- Transition offense
- Perimeter shooting
- Ball handling
- Off-ball movement
- Passing
- Cutting
- Guard versatility
- Defensive activity
That mix helps explain why some platforms call Chase Branham a combo guard while others list him as a shooting guard.
Is Chase Branham a Point Guard or Shooting Guard?
There is no single label used by every recruiting platform.
247Sports identifies Chase Branham as a combo guard. ESPN lists him as a shooting guard. Other recruiting coverage has also referred to him as a point guard at different stages.
That difference is not necessarily a problem.
It reflects his ability to perform multiple backcourt jobs.
A traditional point guard usually carries significant responsibility for initiating offense. A shooting guard typically spends more time working as a scorer away from the ball.
Chase Branham shows parts of both roles.
That is why “combo guard” may be the simplest description.
Chase Branham Height and Size
Chase Branham is listed at 6 feet 4 inches tall.
247Sports lists him at 175 pounds. ESPN lists him at 170 pounds.
The small weight difference is normal for recruiting profiles, particularly for high school athletes who are still developing.
His height is more important when evaluating his positional flexibility.
At 6-foot-4, Chase Branham has solid size for a college-bound guard.
That size can help him see passing lanes, finish around defenders and contest opposing guards.
Chase Branham State Championship
One of the strongest accomplishments on the early Chase Branham résumé is a Missouri state championship.
Logan-Rogersville captured the Class 4 state title during the 2025–26 season. 247Sports specifically notes that Chase Branham led Logan-Rogersville to that championship before his planned transfer to La Lumiere.
The title added an important team achievement to his recruiting profile.
For high-level prospects, individual production receives plenty of attention. But competing successfully in championship situations also matters.
Chase Branham now brings that experience into his final high school season.
Chase Branham AAU Basketball
High-level recruiting does not stop with school basketball.
Chase Branham has also competed with KC Run GMC on the grassroots circuit. His performances during spring and summer competition helped boost his national profile.
That environment gives college coaches a chance to evaluate prospects against other highly recruited players.
For Chase Branham, those appearances helped support his rise toward the top portion of national rankings.
247Sports reported in June 2026 that he had moved into national top-25 territory following a strong spring.
Chase Branham and USA Basketball
Another notable part of the Chase Branham profile is his involvement in the USA Basketball development pipeline.
247Sports reported that Chase Branham was selected for a USA Basketball Junior National Team minicamp.
Selection for an evaluation setting like this puts a player alongside other strong prospects in the same age range.
It does not guarantee a future national team role.
It does show that Chase Branham has reached a level where he is being evaluated in national basketball settings.
Why Is Chase Branham Getting Attention?
There is no single reason.
Chase Branham has a combination of qualities that recruiting analysts tend to value.
He has guard size. He can score. He can make plays with the ball. He can also play without it.

His commitment to Indiana added another layer of attention.
Now his move to La Lumiere gives basketball fans another reason to follow his senior year.

Players can grow, add strength, change roles and improve specific skills before reaching campus.
